Books For Recovering The Gospel

It was almost a year ago when I first watched Paul Washer's now famous 'Shocking Message' at the youth conference in which God used to help wake me up and take a look at myself and the stripped down gospel I had been fed growing up. I have since been reading everything I can get my hands on in regards to God-centered soteriology and what happens when a person is truly 'born again' of the Spirit.

I have found the following books to be very helpful and would recommend them for further looking into this all important subject.

Today's Evangelism by Ernest Reisinger

Tell the Truth
by Will Metzger

Getting Evangelicals Saved
by Paris Reidhead

Today's Gospel Authentic or Synthetic by Walter Chantry

And finally Charles Leiter's Justification and Regeneration which goes in depth in the areas of what the new birth looks like and what happens from a scriptural view of the workings of God in salvation.

I would like to include to your list a book called "Sovereign God- For Us and Through Us" by David Eells. I had a whimsical view of God's sovereignty as depicted by today's evangelical preachers. "This teaching will bring agreement and confidence in the all-powerful God who lovingly works all things together for our good to the end that we become vessels through whom His sovereignty can flow. Included are many exciting testimonies of God's power manifested in saving, healing, delivering, and providing for, and through, His people who have learned to agree with Him."
