Words From Alistair Begg From Yesterday's Truth For Life Broadcast

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness (Romans 1:18)

"And nobody believes this, not even Christians,
because if we did we'd cry,
and when we were done crying we would go,
and when we went we would tell,
and we don't tell because we don't cry,
and we don't go because we don't care.

Do you believe that for pagan men and women there is only a fearful expectation of judgment? That it is appointed unto men once to die and after this then comes the judgment? That it is the Bible that sets the whole world into perspective. What an awesome thing says the writer to fall into the hands of the living God. And you don't need to fall into the hands of the living God in a prospect of judgment, you can be welcomed into the arms of the living God. "

I have been preaching at a college campus all week and that is one of the many verses that I have quoted to the students that have been listening to my preaching. Its convicting enough that I cannot help but to testify of judgement to come and the payment of Jesus Christ to escape that judgement. Thats a good quote.

Ah yes. I've heard messages in line with Alistair Begg's teaching on Hebrew 10:26-31. I've never heard Alister preach before, but I will be coming back. How he taught solidified my understanding of the very difficult passage. Especially in vs. 29 How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
This passage is very sobering and flies in the face of the "fluff" taught in many churches that pass for the word of God. God have mercy.

Yes, Alistair Begg is one of my 2 favorite preachers, the other being Paul Washer. Both have been used mightily by God in my life. Alistair for his faithful, careful, and passionate expository preaching and Paul for his powerful preaching on true biblical conversion.
