I love Paul Washer.Seems like he has changed his mind slightly about this passage. I've heard him rail against using it for evangelism in the past. When he says, "some of the ancients used it as an illustration" any idea who he's talking about?
I am not sure who or what Washer is referencing to when he says that some of the ancients used this in an evangelistic manner. You can tell that he is apprehensive to even make that application though. I don't think he has changed his mind on it; he just wanted to show that even if it was evangelistic, it still wouldn't follow the modern use of it in terms of the implications.
