Many thanks for posting these videos. I faced these very arguments from pro-tithing "pastors" at my previous church, men who could not defend the use of Malachi nor did they understand the NT verses that refer to tithing or Paul's collection for the saints in Jerusalem. It is good and beneficial for the saints of the living God to have the Scripture rightly presented and taught, for the glory of God rather than for the perceived good of man. Press on!

Quite a new low for the reformed world. I would like to know how anyone thinking they are "reformed" could support this obvious compromise with the lowest element of American entertainment culture. As a parent I teach my children that rapp, rock and pop are not for the child of God. Rapp's origins are from the pit of the black gangster, druggy, welfare culture! What are you people thinking?!! Just before you call me a racist, rock music comes also from the 60's white, hippie, sex and drugs culture (though they say rock actually has its roots in black music and was popularized by men like Elvis). I want pure kids not "christianized" versions of the worldly heathen/hedonistic culture. What reformer would endorse such a thing? none. You know, the Reformers left the Roman Catholic church because they realized that it was shot through with paganism/heathenism. Looks like its time for a new Reformation!

During (most) Mondays (I don't know the specific time zone of reckoning; I check in the evening EST), you can search from the Kindle Store site at Amazon using "reformation trust" as the search term. When the results populate, change the Sort By to "Price: Low to High". If there's a freebie, it will appear at the top. There have been one or two Mondays in the last month or so when I wasn't able to find a freebie.

I was just commenting to my wife that I wish guys like MacArthur Piper, Sproul and so-on would talk more on the economy, Goverment and how to live biblically in light of that. Just focus on Jesus an realize the bible speaks about both. People need to hear the gospel and we're acting like self-righteous Pharisees. Read Calvary Chapel Distinctives and stop bashing a man who is still in the race loving and serving Jesus, at 80 plus yrs old. Btw, I consider myself more reformed and believe in God's sovereignty BUT we still need to take the whole scripture into consideration, which refers to Arminian theology. C.C. Believes that the bible speaks about both. Let's minor in the minors and major in the majors please. Preach Jesus.

The saddest thing here is that Spurgeon has been taken completely out of context. That is one paragraph of a Christmas sermon by Spurgeon. Read the rest of the sermon. He was not at all opposed to celebrating the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. What he was arguing against was the idea that Jesus was born on December 25th. This type of propaganda is dishonest.
